APPG visit National Oceanography Centre

APPG for the Ocean were delighted to have the opportunity to visit the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton yesterday to see world-leading research being undertaken by UK scientists in practice.

Our members saw firsthand the extensive research and resources that go into providing the scientific foundations needed to inform decision-making. They toured the Centre’s cutting-edge facilities, including the Marine Robotics Innovation Centre. One of the highlights of the visit was seeing the innovative gliders and autosubs, including the world-famous Boaty McBoatface.

A huge thank you to the National Oceanography Centre for hosting such a fantastic and informative visit, and to all parliamentarians for their time and engagement!
