APPG for the Ocean members visit the National Oceanography Centre

APPG for the Ocean members were delighted to visit the National Oceanography Centre in Southampton to see world-leading research being undertaken by UK scientists in practice.

Parliamentarians Sally-Ann Hart MP (Chair of the APPG), Kerry McCarthy MP, Sir Oliver Heald MP, Dr Matthew Offord MP, Baroness Jones and Lord Greenway were given a tour of the Centre’s facilities, including the Marine Robotics Innovation Centre. Members were also given the chance to discuss the future of ocean technology with leading industry partners. The group were also delighted to see some gliders and autosubs, including the world-famous Boaty McBoatface!

Many thanks to the National Oceanography Centre for hosting us on this fantastic and informative visit and to parliamentarians, for their time and attendance.
